As Executive Director, Wanda oversees all operations and outreach for the organization. In this role she works to expand Ship’s partnerships and streamline services to most effectively serve the community. A North Carolina native who grew up in Southeast Raleigh, Wanda brings over 25 years of experience in nonprofit management and community leadership. 

 

“I have always cared deeply about the economic and social challenges that impact our communities, and I’ve witnessed firsthand the disparities in resources that hurt families in poverty-stricken neighborhoods,” said Wanda. “I believe this role is a calling and I’m proud to serve alongside our dedicated community.” 

 

Outside of work, Wanda uses her talents to build awareness of important issues through community events. She is the proud mother of two adult children, Jasmyne and Desmonde Jr.
