Delta James

TEI Instructor

Delta is the instructor of the Transitional Employment Initiative (TEI) program. In this eight-week job readiness and personal enrichment program, Delta teaches participants vocational and life skills. Delta comes to us with a vast professional background. His experience working in mental health, law enforcement, and education allows him to support participants. Prior to leading TEI, Delta worked as a Substitute Teacher for Wake County Schools where his responsibilities included creating and maintaining respectful and fair classroom cultures to foster safe and productive learning.

In addition to teaching participants skills including resume writing, interview preparation, and professional communication, his mentorship helps participants become more confident and hopeful.

Delta is an artist himself. His work ranges from acrylics to poetry. He hosts “sip and paints” for the community.
