Bill Fulton

Board Member

Bill has served as Board Chairman for over seven years, and is excited to continue to serve as a board member at Ship. He provides oversight and strategic planning ranging from leading fundraising efforts to managing employees. He draws upon his 34 years of professional experience at IBM where he retired as a Business Unit Executive. In addition, he has been a board member of many community organizations. His mission is to turn the Ship's visions into a reality. He is intentional about not imposing his own ideas onto the community, but rather follows the direction of those who are connected and understand the community. Bill has been active since 2006 when he began volunteering at Community Days.

Bill is passionate about providing for people and giving back. “Someone did something for me 2,000 years ago on a cross and I want to give back and help in any way I can.”

He is also a Church Elder, husband, father, and grandfather. His work in the ministry extends to his own congregation at Hope Church, where he serves as an Elder. He and his wife Barbara moved to Raleigh after both graduating from Michigan State University. They have been married for 47 years and are blessed with two daughters and five grandchildren. In his free time, Bill enjoys spending time with grandkids, golfing, and fishing.
